Hi I’m Laura! The face behind Violet Hummingbird Events.

I am a wife and also a mum to two young girls; four and one. They are my inspiration for this business and major reason for my career change from being an NHS midwife for the last 15 years.

My girls even sculpted my business name! Violet is my youngest’s middle name and Hummingbird is a nod to my eldest girl’s heart condition; which causes her heart to often beat too fast – much like a Hummingbirds.

I adore gardening and crafting but I think even more than that I just LOVE to make people feel special. I have always absolutely adored creating those personal touches and thinking of the little special details that would mean the world to people. I am a true perfectionist and my hubby would say I never sit down or don’t have some project on the go (and some for him poor chap)!

I really pride myself on my creative ideas and the attention to detail within my event set ups; as I want your special occasion to not only look beautiful but provide you and your guests an incredible experience! From small decorative details and personalisation to simple things like tailoring the activities and set up to the age of people attending your event. It is all about creating those memories to last a lifetime…whilst it also looks beautiful.
